Salce lies on the hills just west of Belluno, along the road towards Feltre. About 4 km from the town centre a side road climbs to Col di Salce.

In the small hamlet of Col di Salce (429 m) stand the 17th-century Villa Zaglio and, next to it, the little church of San Bartolomeo from the same period.

A kilometre further along the ridge is Salce (404 m), a small village with the 18th-century oratory of the Beata Vergine Annunciata, joined to the 17th-century Villa Giamosa; a little beyond is Villa Doglioni, also 17th-century.

From the main road a lane lined with hornbeams leads up to Villa Miari, a simple 17th-century building on the crest of the hill, with wide views over the Piave valley towards Feltre and Monte Grappa and over the Cordevole plain towards the Dolomites.

Near San Fermo, about 7 km from Belluno, stands Villa Pagani-Gaggia, built in the 17th century and enlarged in 1789.
